Small villages are great to visit. The ones we stopped at were far from any large villages and the people were not corrupted by large tour ships as you would find on the Amazon River. The children warmed up quickly and even more so once you showed them their picture which they could see on the back of the digital camera.
In some villages, the government has provided a small generator and a satellite dish which allows villagers to watch TV or have a phone connection. Those of us that live in North America for example, have our sat dishes pointing south just over the horizon to connect with the sat signal. As you can see in the one photo, the sat dish points directly up.
