In April 08 I traveled to Manaus, Brazil to start an 8 day, approximate 175 miles trip up the Rio Negro and ending back in Manaus on the confluence of the Rio Negro and Solimoes Rivers which then becomes the Amazon River. The day prior to leaving on the boat trip, some of the tour participants went on a tour of the Amazon Opera House and the Mercado Municipal, the central marketplace of Manaus. The marketplace was a mix of just about everything the jungle and the rivers have to offer. Over the years, markets have become one of my favorite photo opportunity spots. Photos were taken inside the market and outside on the Rio Negro river.
