Today was the first of two days for the Walker Sled Race. The race stared on frozen Leech Lake. The lake is the third largest lake in MN covering approximately 112,000 acres. There were several events starting with the 2 dog junior event, skijoring with 1-3 dogs up to the 10 dog pro race. The temperature got over 40 degrees causing some dogs to overheat. There were around 50 sled teams, hundreds of snowmobiles and a couple airplanes landed on the lake to view the race.
